  • Pensacola, FL (February 24, 2025) Earlier this month City of Pensacola representatives, community organizations and a plethora of local journalists were invited to visit with the GL52 fleet at Palafax Marina. They met with team members on the docks and watched practice racing on the water. The access and experience provided insight into how the GL52s coming to town for the first time will help to establish Pensacola as a destination for both world-class and aspiring sailors alike.

  • In 2024, the dynamic GL52 Racing Fleet competed in thirteen (13) regattas from Key West (FL) to Newport (RI) to the Great Lakes comprised of 62 races. The wide-raging schedule, variety and quality of events combined with the GL52 fleet’s ethos of continuous improvement produced some of the most closely contested racing in any class. With the 7 Great Lakes Series events in the books, John Huhn’s KATANA team– who won 3 of the seven regattas– claimed the seasonal GL52 championship. Regatta trophies were well-distributed throughout the fleet this summer attesting to the high level of competition in the class.

  • The GL52 Winter Series= 20 Races + 1 crafty FOX + 5-piece Mariachi Band! From all accounts the 2024 GL52 Winter Series, that included the Southernmost Regatta (Jan- 15-19) and the Key West Cup presented by Quantum Sails (Feb 15-18) provided excellent fleet racing in a variety of conditions and plenty of dock-side camaraderie.
